Auto-reply to Facebook Emails IN Facebook?

I will not ever use Facebook for two-way email communication. I would like to set up an auto-reply IN Facebook so that when someone send me a private email message, they get a "Thank you for reaching out to me here on Facebook. I do not use it for email communication. Please feel free to write me at my regular address blah blah blah"

Similar to a "Im on vacation" auto-reply, I guess :-)

I am willing to bet FB doesnt do/allow this, though.

I've never heard of something like that, but Facebook does inform the sender when their message has been read. If you don't read the private messages, they will know you haven't seen it.

There's no way to do this that's built into Facebook, but you can get around it with a little ingenuity. When you get a Facebook message, you should also get an email to whatever address is tied to the Facebook account. If you respond to that message, it'll send a Facebook response.

Using that information, you can indeed set up an auto responder. Detailed information is here.
