Bacon of the month club?

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with bacon of the month clubs?
I've searched on Google, and found several places offering bacon of the month clubs, but does anyone have any specific recommendations? I'd love to get it for Mr. Needlegrrl for Valentine's Day, but would feel better if someone had tried it.

I was given the Zingerman's bacon-of-the-month club a few years back. It was awesome.

I gave my husband a subscription to The Pig Next Door's bacon of the month club. I did the Hierloom version. It was fantastic. I don't recall any of the bacons being peppered. One might have been maple. But there was a lot of variety between them.

I got Zingerman's for a partner about five years ago. I asked around among my male friends if this would be an appropriate gift, and one responded, "If I received this from you, I would regard you as a queen."
So Zingerman's sent the first pack of bacon to my partner's office during a time when he was on vacation for a week. Oops. Then they sent another pack the week after that. Double oops. I was expecting it to arrive in, you know, a month.
I called them up and they were very apologetic. They sent replacement bacon for the pack that had been delivered early, and they may have even added an extra month on the end.
Moral of the story:
Make sure your person will be there to receive said bacon. Zingerman's has great customer service. The bacon was thoroughly enjoyed.

I was gifted three months of Zingerman's. So far, I've gotten the first month's bacon. It is incredible. Has "real meat" quality that previous bacons, even organic ones, though tasty, have not had. Like ham-bacon? Regardless of my ability to describe the taste, so far so great.

My wife gave me a subscription to the Pig Next Door for my birthday a couple weeks after we started dating. It was fantastic.
God I want some bacon right now.

I was given a six month subscription to the Pig Next Door, and while the bacon was quite delicious I would never buy it for myself. $30/lb just isn't justifiable for me.

Response by poster: I'm opting for the Zingerman's currently - although the Pig Next Door looks really good as well. Maybe if he really likes the Zingerman's, we'll try Pig Next Door next!
