Help me find a video explaining who's who and what's what in the development of the Fallout franchise, particularly Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Once upon a time there was a video (at least I think it was a video) that very clearly and succinctly explained why a lot of fans of Fallout and Fallout 2 might not have been head over heels in love with Fallout 3 but how, with the coming of Fallout: New Vegas, with a lot of the older developers involvement, the old school Fallout fans and the Fallout 3 fans were all excited and what not. My vague memory suggests that this was done by Benjamin "Yahtzee" Croshaw, but I can't seem to find it as a Zero Punctuation review and while I vaguely remember it being linked from MetaFilter, it apparently was not part of an FPP.

I am not sure of what article you're referring to, but in general, Fallout NV is seen as being more true to the Fallout legacy because it was produced by Obsidian Entertainment, whereas Fallout 3 was done by Bethesda. Obsidian Entertainment's creative team is led by Chris Avellone, who was a lead designer on Fallout 2, along with Feargus Urquhart and Chris Taylor, also Fallout 2/Black Isle lead designers.

ellF has the right of it, but leaves out the involvement of Josh Sawyer in New Vegas, who had been the lead on the cancelled Van Buren project (which was to have become Fallout 3 back in the Interplay days, and from which many, many, many, many ideas were cribbed and brought to fruition in New Vegas.)
