Kindle fire -- I'd like to listen to stitcher for a half hour until I fall asleep. I'd like the app to stop and the kindle turn off.

I don't know if you can get regular Android apps on it, but if you can: Beyondpod has a sleep timer.

Not 100% what you asked, but that's how I listen to NPR podcasts for 30 minutes while dozing off.
