Where can I watch the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremonies online?

My sister and brother-in-law missed the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics. We watched them live and thought they were terrific. I went to Google and NBColympics.com to find a replay. No dice.

What's the deal? Is there a place where I can find the entire Opening Ceremony online to watch again?

I've been trying to find them, too, without any luck at all. I hope someone else can help out.

I'm not sure about the legality of it (it's not so black and white when it's footage from public broadcasters such as CBC or The Beeb), but you can easily find bittorrent feeds of anything and everything related to the Olympics, including the opening ceremonies.

You may be SOL if you're looking for a legal way to watch it in the US. If you get a VPN terminating in the UK you can watch it on BBC's iPlayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01l4ldk/Olympic_Ceremonies_London_2012_Opening_Ceremony/ ). Or you can get it via p2p (usenet, torrents).

I have been watching on BBC One and a site called thefirstrow.eu and trying free cast.com. Sometimes fuzzy. I am in MN.

There are definitely torrents of the opening ceremonies in avi format. I've sent you a memail.

I was about to post an associated question, but maybe someone here knows - is there any replaying of sports events without backwards looking commentary?

is it possible in Australia to watch the swimming races that were held at 4.30 am at a reasonable hour without being told multiple times just who won?

Aussies are a bit screwed too: it's a choice between subscribing to Foxtel or alternative means.
