Things to see in Norway!

Where should I go in Norway, outside Oslo, in four days?
The last day of my conference in Oslo is August 3rd; my flight back from Oslo is August 8th. I would like to rent a car and drive somewhere, with a preference for pretty scenery, but I'm open to cultural activities/events/museums etc. I will already have had the chance to see some of Oslo, so would rather go and sightsee outside it. What sort of itinerary would be reasonable?

Do you mean "just outside of Oslo" because Drøbak is really pretty, you can google for pics and activity guides. Good place for food, historic fortresses, fishing village kinda place.

Response by poster: Thanks for the answers so far! I'd like to rent a car, so anywhere that's doable within that time period would be fine, not necessarily just around Oslo.
One possibility I had in mind was taking a day to drive up to Geiranger, doing some hiking and fjord-seeing there for a day, then taking a day to slowly drive to Kristiansund and possibly dropping by Vevang, stopping for sightseeing along the way, and finally driving back down from Kristiansund to Oslo. Does that sounds reasonable? In early August, would I be reasonably sure of finding accommodation at very short notice along the way, or should I plan to reserve accommodation in Geiranger/Kristiansund/wherever I end up going?

Best answer: Another vote for Bergen. Consider also Stavanger or more specifically walking up to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) for some photography.
Don't mix up Kristiansund and Kristiansand, as they're quite far apart!

Although that is a long train ride- 7 hrs, so not sure if that's something you'd be interested to do by car. The scenery was amazing though.
