Google, you creep show

Gmail just asked me if I wanted to import all my mail from another email account of mine. How can I figure out if I've ever told Gmail I own this account? Or is this just google being creepy as hell again?

The account in question is a hotmail account, originally opened 10 years or so ago --- I still use it as the default account for web shopping, since it help keeps my personal email free of spam and bacn. I believe the hotmail account may have an associated google account --- I think just because I wanted to watch some video on youtube or something once. But as far as I recall I don't think I've ever used it as the alternate/recovery account in case I lost my gmail password. When I first got gmail I was using a different hotmail account for my personal email, and opened the gmail account using that as the validation address.

I'm not 100% certain of this though, and I after dicking around with all the email setting and general goog profile settings I can't seem to figure out where to find what I have in there as my "if I lose my password, send a recovery email to" address. And IIRC correctly, i don't think they use that form of account recovery for gmail nowadays anyway.

So what I'm wondering is, is the fact that I own this other address something google could have figured out from my usage patterns and automatically suggested to me somehow? Is there anyway to tell?

Response by poster: Ahhh, there it is. Turns out I did use it as the recovery address, i thought I had a different one in there. Feel a bit silly, now.
