mouse a Venezia per i capretti

Find-that-book filter: Help me track down a 35-year-old kids' picture book about mice in Venice.
What I know:
* I was six when I read it, so the book had to have been published on or before 1976.
* It was a picture book. I remember black-and-white line drawings for illustrations; no color.
* "Mice" and "Venice" are the only plot details I remember clearly. I also vaguely remember something about the mice helping save parts of Venice from sinking.
Thanks -- Google is only turning up recent works (I had no idea "mice in Venice" was so much of a thing suddenly).

Response by poster: It could be indeed -- I'd have to see the inside illustrations to be sure (the color on the cover is making me skeptical, but that could be just age talking).
It's very likely, though. Thanks!

It was published in 1976 and it's about a mouse that comes up with a plan to keep Venice from sinking. It's entirely likely that only the cover was in colour.

The illustrations inside are indeed in black and white according to AbeBooks.

The NYPL has it but as an in-library item only, and only in a specific location.
There are about 650 libraries with the book in Worldcat, so if you'd like a copy to take home your chances are good of getting an ILL.
