What are some good soul songs in 6/8 or 12/8 meter? Ideally, I'm looking for stuff from the 60s and 70s, but stuff from later that's in that style is fine too.

The first song that springs to mind is Otis Redding's You Don't Miss Your Water.

James Brown It's a Mans Man's Man's World
Ray Charles: I can't Stop Loving You

Lots of Beatles (and Beatle covers): You Really Got a Hold on Me, This Boy, and others that aren't really soul at all, like All My Loving, Baby's in Black ...

The Times They Are A-Changin' is basically in 12/8 with an added beat between the first and second (and between the third and fourth) lines in each stanza.

This is my favorite 12/8 track from that era -- Toussaint McCall's Nothing Takes the Place of You.
