Recent Article on Era by Style in Movies?

Can someone point me to that recent article which was talking about how movies from previous decades were clearly of that stylish era but that it is hard to tell apart movies starting in the 1990's until today except for maybe computer and cell phone technology?

Best answer: I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to but the journalist Kurt Andersen recently wrote a column about this general topic.

Response by poster: Thanks. I'm almost certain that was the article I was thinking of, although I didn't read it at the time, I just heard it being discussed by others, which is why I was having trouble finding it.

If anyone else knows any other interesting discussions on this topic I would love to see those also.
