How to log my contacts' MSN Messenger names...

I'm looking for a tool/bot to automatically log the screen names of my MSN Messenger contacts.

I use MSN Messenger as my IM tool of choice. Many of my contacts change their screen names frequently to reflect something that is going on in their lives, something witty they've heard, etc. I would love to be able to somehow log all of these names with a datestamp for posterity. Does anyone know how this can be done? Perhaps a 3rd party IM client would be of use? Google has thus far let me down.

Messenger Plus! Doesn't exactly log the names. Although the name changes are logged, they are logged with singing in/out and too many things to actually read through. I thought that would be important to point out.

Sound like taang is looking for something that will display a list of contact, and clicking a contact would show their "name history".

I'd like such a feature as well :-)

Response by poster: So far, I've found:

A stand-alone app that claims to do this:
http://www.plasticangels.com/code.php?lan=downloads&page=psmlogger

The above app doesn't actually work on my XP system. I get a run time error everytime I try to log with it.

A plugin for Messenger Plus! called Phoenix 1.0 that can supposedly log names. I haven't seen exactly how it works, as it is my understanding that Messenger Plus! contains spyware/adware... not something I'm looking for.

I'll keep looking...

Messenger Plus! only contained spyware if you are an idiot. When you install it you are told 'hey, the next screen will ask you if you would install some spyware from our sponser, we suggest you say no' Then you say no...

Response by poster: Works for me... I've never installed Messenger Plus! myself, just removed the spyware for other (evidently idiotic) people.

I'll give it a try with the Phoenix plug-in and see if it can accomplish what I'm looking for.
