Can I use an iPhone to control iPad 2 Photos app?
So I was showing my Parents in Law my holiday snaps recently (taken on my DSLR and uploaded to my iPad using the camera connection kit), using the Photos app.
Because the screen size is relatively small, they were having to hold the iPad in their laps and it was a right faff to lean forward each time to scroll through the photos. Is it possible to use my iPhone to control this remotely?
I’m thinking this would also be useful if I hooked the iPad up to the TV using an HDMI cable (I don’t have an AppleTV).

To elaborate on empath's answer: Veency is a free VNC server for jailbroken iOS devices, so you'd jailbreak the iPad 2 to have it be the VNC server. Then, there are VNC viewer apps available from the App Store that you could use on the iPhone to control the iPad (so you wouldn't have to jailbreak the iPhone). If the iPad 2 happens to be on iOS version 4.3.3, jailbreaking it using JailbreakMe is easy (it takes two taps and thirty seconds), but if the iPad 2 is on any other iOS version, you can't jailbreak it. (There are also a couple tools for jailbroken devices for helping hook them up to TVs in ways Apple doesn't quite intend: DisplayOut and Resupported.)
I imagine there are easier alternate solutions though!

Perhaps something like this would do the trick (although you would need the pictures to actully be on your iPhone (I just googled ariplay iphone to ipad)

If you're willing to jailbreak, AirServer might do the trick too.

Response by poster: Thanks guys. Airframe doesn't seem to be available anymore and I've bad jail breaking experiences so I don't want to go down that route.
Seems like a fairly obvious feature to be left out, no?
