Can't remember Bosnian War film....

I am unable to remember a Bosnian War (I think) film I saw randomly on cable about 5 years ago. American male lead. Spoilers within.

The film opens with a young, blonde woman painstakingly preparing a spartan meal alone in her apartment. She works in an industrial, factory-type setting and her superior insists she must take time off. She is obviously emotionally disturbed. Can't remember how this happens, but she ends up nursing (?) on a ship (?) for an American male lead and eventually reveals to him her capture and abuse during the war and shows chest scars. The captors would rape/cut her while simultaneously apologizing (sorry to traumatize you). It was an incredibly moving film that had me absolutely sobbing.

Anyone know? Thanks!
