Ain't WHICH Mountain High Enough?

On the muzak where I work, which is actual Muzak brand muzak, there is a soul channel that sometimes plays a version of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" that is simply amazing. It's a female vocalist, sounds like Aretha Franklin, may be her, but I can't seem to find a matching version online.
As far as I can recall, it doesn't have any male voices, doesn't have any spoken-word parts or slow orchestral parts or whatever, and when the singer is getting towards the end of the song and hits the chorus, she just belts it. I mean, she just absolutely blasts it out. It is fantastic. I looked on youtube and couldn't find anything that matched it. There are some live Aretha versions and some Diana Ross and the Supremes ones, but those aren't it.

Do you (or a coworker) have a smartphone? There's an app called Shazam that does a pretty good job of identifying songs and can sometimes pick out specific live versions, remixes, etc.

Best answer: FWIW, you probably have the Classics - Mo' Soul channel, assuming it's all classic soul. A Tammi Terrell track got played a few minutes ago. Her duet with Marvin Gaye is the definitive version of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," but she also did a solo version. I think that might be what you heard.

Best way to get an answer to a question like this is to use Spotify. It will find every version of the song in its database, and you're very likely to find the one you heard.

Response by poster: I heard it tonight again and looked it up via Muzak's website and they said it was Diana Ross. I will try to track it down now. Thanks for the help, folks.
