Help! Big burly dudes/dudettes with truck needed!

Movers in Philadelphia for a move next week may have crapped out at the last minute. Does anyone have any suggestions for moving companies for a 1-bedroom-size within-city move who might be able to strike a last-minute appointment in case this is true?

Specifically, I'd be moving from one apartment to another in the University City/West Philadelphia area. If needed, I could get a U-Haul... labor is what's really required. I really just need help with some of the larger-order items (e.g. TV, desk, bed). Thanks so much, Philly MeFites!

Best answer: You want Mambo Movers. That is all.

Holy cow, the Mambo Movers website is incredible.

I want Mambo Movers, and I don't even live in Philadelphia. Nor am I really planning on moving, for that matter.

Best answer: Loved, loved, loved Mambo Movers. They taught me how to carry big objects behind my back. It has been years, but the crew I dealt with was fast, professional and reliable.

I wanted Mambo Movers when I moved in Philly, but they weren't available. So the availability issue might be a problem. I used Mastrocco, and was pleased although they were a little more pricey than I had hoped for. But I was in the middle of a break-up and didn't really have the wherewithal to actually pack myself up, and they did it all for me. They also managed to shimmy all my furniture up three floors on a spiral staircase in the trinity I was moving into. So they get major points for bending the laws of physics.

IIRC there are moving companies that were started by former Mambo employees. Does anybody know which they are?

N-thing Mambo: they were fantastic. It is a joy to watch them work.
