When using the Microsoft win 7 USB/DVD Download tool, to create a bootable USB drive to install win 7 on my Desktop, I get this error "We were unable to copy your files. please check your USB device and the selected ISO file and try again." How do I fix this? I have tried 2 different USB's and 2 different ISOs

Best answer: The Mefite tech gurus might need more information, like what machine are you running the tool on, what steps did you follow, how far into the process were you when you got the error message?

There are a lot of complaints online related to the error message you posted, here's one solution. I have no personal experience with that solution, or that site, so I can't vouch for it. It's just a nudge in a possibly helpful direction, depending on what's causing your issue. Proceed at your own risk.

Amyms link looks like a sound start. Just be very careful when using Diskpart, and make sure you're selecting the right disk using "list disk" beforehand.
