Recommended fresh/healthy/organic/diet meal delivery services in NJ?
I'm looking for a healthy diet meal delivery service. I'd like to get to a healthy weight (which seems to be about 60-70 lbs from where I am now), and when I've tried more traditional methods for eating better (like Weight Watchers), the choices and options are almost too overwhelming. I want to have everything laid out for me so all I need to do is pick something and heat it up. Nothing stresses me out as much as trying to figure out what to have for lunch or dinner.
I've recently started doing about 30 minutes of cardio in the mornings, so, my focus is to keep the exercise going, and not have to worry about the food part. That will come later when I've been able to settle into a routine and hopefully start feeling more energetic and motivated.
Trust me, I know the best way to go is to buy and prepare my own food, and I plan to eventually get there. But for now, I need something super EASY. I don't want frozen foods like LeanCuisine, and I don't want weird NutriSystem food either. I'm really looking for something freshly prepared, with lots of veggies, whole grains, and no artificial sweeteners or other chemicals.
Healthy Chef Creations seems like exactly what I want, but it's WICKED expensive.
So that leaves me with all of these other similar options: Diet-to-Go, BistroMD, Freshology, PureFoods Fresh Start, and eDiets which has a bunch of plans like Fresh Prepared and the Biggest Loser. From what I understand, a lot of these places actually use the same food service for their meals.
In all of the reading I've done, it seems that people are most happy with local meal delivery services. The food is fresher and better tasting. Makes sense. I just think my search ability is failing me here. There must be a service like this in the Essex County area - I just can't find it.
My ideal plan would be a 5-day plan that includes three meals per day and snacks/dessert/whatever. Organic would be ideal (as it would most likely eliminate the chance of the food being laden with artificial sweeteners and chemicals), but I know that jacks up the price, so, not it's not absolutely necessary. It would be great to keep the weekly cost for this under $150.
So, has anyone tried any of these services? Or know of any that are really good (and affordable)?
