Another name-that-band question ...

What's the name of this Japanese prog/pop/rock band that someone once referenced in a thread?

All I can remember: Female lead singer, who I think was pretty flamboyant on-stage. Lots of keyboard. Really crazy inventive music. I think the name of the band was two words. I remember going to Amazon to look them up only to find that none of their stuff is available in the U.S., only expensive import editions.

(Not a lot to go on, I know...)

Best answer: It's a shot in the dark, but is it Tokyo Jihen?

Best answer: The Brilliant Green? Ringo Shiina? Tokyo Jihen? Yoko Kanno? Monkey Majik? (Yeah, some of these are individual artists, but just throwing out two- and three-word possibilities...)

Tokyo Jihen is basically Shiina Ringo's post-solo band, so look for Shiina Ringo albums too. Some of the earlier albums released under her name are really great.

Yes, seconding Gortuk. Shiina Ringo's solo albums are amazing.

Yep, thirding Ringo Shiina.
