Help me find a new home in the Philadelphia suburbs

Advice for where to move in Montgomery County (North Philadelphia suburbs) and where to find good listings!

I'm looking for 1-2 bedroom apartments to rent in Montgomery County (Abington/Jenkintown/Glenside area) near a RR station for easy access to the city. Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding places to look. I currently live in West Philly and have always had great success on Craigslist, but haven't found many options in that area beyond large apartment complexes, which I'd prefer to avoid if possible. Other suggestions for where to look or neighborhoods we should consider living in?

I know there have been a few questions on apartment hunting in and around Philly before, but I followed those links and didn't find many good options in Montco. Any additional help would be great.

Do you want my house in East Falls? (I'm only half kidding. PM me if interested.) I found it by driving around and writing down numbers from For Rent signs, but I also had good luck with the agents at Elfant Wissahickon. What are you looking for in a neighborhood? You might also want to consider Mount Airy, Germantown and Chestnut Hill.

I used to live in Jenkintown Gardens apartments. It's a small apartment complex a few blocks from the Jenkintown train station, and a block away from York Rd, an Acme and a small shopping pavilion that has a coffee shop, a Subway, a Qdoba, etc. in it. Jenkintown train station is great because so many trains stop there (I don't know what they're called now, but it used to be the R1, R3 and R5). Technically, you'd be living in Abington township, but it's called Jenkintown.
We never had any problems with our apartment, so I can't speak to the response of the apartment manager, but any time I did speak with someone from their office, they were very friendly.
I don't have the number of the office right now, but if you're interested, I can write it down the next time I go by and memail it to you.
