Wiimote motion sensor acting weird.
Hope someone out there can help me on this. One of my wiimotes started acting weird. Let's say I use Mario Kart, and hold the more horizontally.
When I tilt it , to try and steer a kart, it does not work. (kart goes straight).
But if I use it to point at the screen, to select stuff, it DOES work.
Question: isn't it the same motion sensor? When pointing to the screen, it seems to me it is moving in the same way as if when holding horizontally to drive?
At this point not sure if this is broken, or it can be fixed?

It has motion sensors and an IR sensor. The IR sensor is what makes it work when you point it at the screen. Try recalibrating the Wiimote (especially if it's a Motion Plus version.) You sould be able to find this through the Wii settings menu.

Did you recently change out some dead batteries? Mine does this often when I take out the batteries to recharge them; recalibration always helps.

Response by poster: thanks for the suggestions.... popped a fresh, new set of batteries, did the
recalibration. Still not working. I guess I'll have to take it in for repairs.

Best answer: It sounds like your accelerometer is stuck
