Photoshop CS4, Windows XP issue

Photoshop CS4, Windows XP issue: every time I select a layer inside of a group and I go to move that layer around, the whole group moves with it.
I click on a layer name, it gets highlighted in gray, I choose the Move Tool, click on the object to move it, then all of a sudden the group name in the layers palette gets highlighted in gray and all of the layers in the group moves with the layer that I want to move. If I hold down the Control key, then only the selected layer moves.
What did I do and how do I get it back to normal?

Response by poster: That's it. Thanks.
I can't believe that it was something as simple as that. There was so many of us poking around under the hood of Photoshop and that stupid check box was right there, hiding in plain sight the whole time. YAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
Thanks Unc.
