all of the sinning with none of the guilt!

i need some help with some convention swag that relates to the seven deadly sins.

i am going to a convention in about a week (well, loosely a convention - it's basically my friends all meeting up to hang out and party), and the theme is the seven deadly sins. i would like to make a mix cd for people to take home, and so far all my song choices seem, well, run of the mill (i.e. damn i wish i was your lover for lust, jessie's girl for jealousy, etc. and i am starting out with the flogging molly song. that one i'm keeping, because it's well, awesome.).

please help me, hive mind! make my cd awesome! if you were making a cd with the theme seven deadly sins, what would you put on it? big bonus for digitally available songs. i did check the previous questions, but only found one for pride songs.

thanks!

The Clash - Clampdown for wrath maybe?

Let fury have the hour, anger can be power
Do you know that you can use it?

Pink Floyd - Money (Avarice)
Iggy Pop - Lust for Life (Lust)
Queen - Princes of the Universe (Pride)
Small Faces - Lazy Sunday Afternoon (Sloth)
Toothpick - Supersize Me (Gluttony)

Lust - "Love To Love You Baby" by Donna Summer (bonus: extended moaning)

Gluttony - "Eat It" by Weird Al Yankovic

Greed - "Pieces of Eight" by Styx

Sloth - "Because I Got High" by Afroman

Wrath - "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" by Drowning Pool

Envy - "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls

Pride - the sinful kind of pride is also called "vainglory" so I'm going to go with "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon

How about ...

Soft Cell - Sex Dwarf (lust)
The Smiths - Work is a Four-Letter Word (sloth)
The Flying Lizards - Money (greed)
Jay-Z - Dirt Off Your Shoulder (pride)
Skee-Lo - I Wish (envy)

And two I don't actually like, but that were too appropriate ...

Weird Al Yankovic - Eat It (gluttony)
Dope - Die Motherf*cker Die (wrath)

Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money) is a dead ringer for pride, though you could shoehorn it into avarice too.

Traveling Wilbury's, Seven Deadly Sins (although it's not the usual seven, it's a fun song).

Lucretia MacEvil by Blood, Sweat, and Tears?

Also! Lyle Lovett's "M-O-N-E-Y".

Depending on how raunchy (and cheesy) you want to get, anything from Lords of Acid—Lust would be great for lust.

Gluttony: Weird Al Yankovic—"Fat"

Sloth: Mazzy Star—"Wasted"

Wrath: Pantera—"Fucking Hostile" (couldn't find a decent version on YouTube, but trust me, it's TOTALLY BRUTAL, MAN)

Oh, and My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult has plenty of good options for lust:

Sexplosion
Sex on Wheelz
Dirty Little Secrets
Disko Fleshpot
Leathersex

"Lazy" - X-Press 2 w/David Byrne [sloth]
"I Can't Imagine the World Without Me" - Echobelly [pride]
"Never Say Never" - Romeo Void [lust]
"Shoplifters Of The World Unite" - The Smiths [greed]
"Get it On (Bang a Gong)"- T. Rex [lust]

Too Much - Dave Matthews Band (I know, I know, but - seems pretty much exactly gluttony)

I've been totally beanplating this, but I realized how to explain why Opportunities by the Pet Shop Boys is about pride/hubris rather than greed, even though the subtitle/refrain is Let's Make Lots of Money: the speaker says My car is parked outside, I'm afraid it doesn't work and this is the clue that he's actually an idiot even though he keeps saying "I would be the brains of the operation."

So, um, maybe you can drop that as an anecdote over cocktails after the convention. Yeah, yep, that's totally why I came back and made this comment, was out of concern that you should be able to provide properly witty post-convention repartée.
