Help me listen to the radio on my computer!

How do I get my computer to live-stream radio stations without giving me a big black screen with the message 'waiting for video'? This happens whether I click on 'High Quality Live Audio Stream', 'Unmetered Content' or 'Low Bit Rate Live Audio Stream' It also happens when I try to listen to audio files from my university webpage. I have a PC with Windows 7.

Best answer: I would recommend using Winamp with Shoutcast as a station selection tool. I've been streaming audio for years.

This is what the VLC is for. Works very well indeed.
