name that 90's mac game

I am trying to find the name of an obscure mac game i used to play in the 90's. To find by google search terms has not been successful and to describe the game is a challenge.

The game window is a big empty space with a player cursor (controlled by arrow keys) moving clockwise. Floating around in the empty space was an object to avoid (contact from it ends the game, but you are safe as long as your cursor is on the perimeter.) that looked like a pc screensaver, bouncing off the sides.
The object of the game was to build rectangles inside the perimeter while avoiding the thing in the middle. Once the rectangle was completed, it would fill in solid and a percentage of space filled within the gameworld is kept on the side. When you successfully fill up X% of space with rectangles you go to the next level, however if the thing in the middle gets you while you are completing your rectangle, you're dead.
Also, even though you were safe from the floating thing in the middle as long as you were on the perimeter, going counter-clockwise along the perimeter were circles you had to avoid by venturing off the perimeter and make a rectangle.
There must be an easier way to describe this game, but please, can anyone help me with this?

It sounds like clone of Qix.

If you have Steam, you can buy a game based on this. It's called Fortix and it has a free demo. The full game is only $4.99, which is probably as much as it's worth.
