Dumb cheap downloadable Mac fun
I'm in the mood to waste some time on an entertaining game for my mac. Must be downloadable. Fairly simple to pick up, as I'm not really in the mood to be challenged today. No adventure/RPG/FPS, please. Willing to pay $5-6, but can be convinced to shell out a little more for something really fun. Anything?

Hop onto the Mac App Store and grab yourself Rochard.

Atom Zombie Smasher is on Steam for only $5. It's a real time strategy game where you try to kill zombies and rescue civilians. The game's a lot more fun than how my description sounds!

Best answer: Plants vs. Zombies is an award-winning fun/funny tower defense game. (although a couple bucks over $6—it's a $9.95 download via PopCap's site, but well worth it!)

Best answer: Big Fish Games has a new customer coupon for $2.99, and lots of non-challenging Mac games. I'm currently playing The TimeBuilders: Pyramid Rising (the only challenge is to get the golden scarab for all levels). If you get stuck at a level, you can always find a helpful solution from a fellow gamer in the games forum section.

The game N (link) is fantastic and free. You can try out the browser-based version first if you want to see what it's like, but the downloadable version is far superior.

Best answer: Plants vs Zombies. $4.99 (normally $9.99) on Steam right now. A fantastic casual game.

(hint: you can jump off the walls.) N just might be the most entertaining game I've played on my Mac, and you only really use 3 keys.

After you buy Plants vs. Zombies (really can't argue with that one) on Steam, use the Big Fish Games coupon to buy World of Goo. It's simple and gorgeous.

Bejewled 3 is a fantastically slick and polished puzzle game with loads of different modes and options. I'm a big fan of the meditation mode for chilling out and letting cascading jewels wash over me.
