Video Killed My Memory

Can _not_ remember the music video or the artist!
What I remember is: there was this young black chick with a funky up-do in a school, slide-steppin' down the hallway. I think she was wearing wingtips and a tailored suit that had male clothing cut qualities to it.
Another video by her was a "fashion show" of the latest robots and so on.
I really liked her music, but for some reason didn't buy her cd or anything at the time.
I know she _just_ premiered, of sorts, near the end of last year. Her first cd I believe.

If anyone wanted to be really nice also, there's a music video of a rap artist (also black, wearing sunglasses, might have a goatee) who's doing some song with, I think, a techno artist who's featured as a robot. The colors in the video are black, silver, white, and red.

(Having seen her live, I would like to add that as good as her videos are and as great as her latest record is, she is also one of the most exciting live performers I've ever had the privilege to see. Just amazingly talented. Buy her stuff. See her show. She's GREAT.)
