Something fun (and gay) to do in San Francisco for Halloween next Saturday night?
A friend and I will be in San Francisco next weekend, from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. Happily, that weekend coincides with Halloween. Hooray! However, not knowing much about San Francisco, we are kind of at a loss as to what we can do. (And bummed to find out that the big Castro party is apparently not happening.)
We are both gay and in mid-20s, and since San Francisco is a gay mecca, we figured there will be all kinds of Halloween parties and events next weekend. Surprisingly, I can't seem to find much information or event listings online (is there not much happening, or do SF places just don't advertise events online much?), so I am hoping to find some recommendations here. Also, if there is not much happening in San Francisco proper, we are fine with expanding the scope geographically a little.
Ideally, we would love to find something that has 1) a good crowd with good energy, 2) drinks, 3) maybe a little trashy or divey, 4) a costume contest, a Tranny show, or something like that, 5) dancers or go-go boys (which, I guess, goes back to trashy). Something where a skimpy Halloween costume is appropriate is also a plus. :) Of course, we are probably not going to find a place that has all that in one place, so these are sort of rough guidelines to guide the suggestions. We don't want to limit ourself to just bars and clubs, so any kind of locations are fine.
More generally, we would also really appreciate suggestions and recommendations for gay bars, clubs, and what have you in San Francisco that are fun and busy on weekends, even if they are not hosting anything Halloween-specific. Thanks so much in advance!

If you can, walk or take public transportation to whatever event you choose.
Traffic in the city on Halloween is atrocious. It once took me two hours to get from the Great American Music Hall and onto the Bay Bridge (which is about two miles).

This isn't a club, but it is a classically queer San Francisco event, that I am sorry to miss:

I'm straight, but I've spent a couple of Halloween's in SF and I can't imagine you won't have a good time in the Castro, official party or no. It's always been amazing.

I was coming back to add this, with Mefi's own smartyboots but will also beg you to please stay away from the Castro. The Halloween party there's been shut down after too much unpleasantness. It's not fun anymore.

Also check the listings at Queer Things To Do in the San Francisco Bay Area. In fact, it's a great resource all year round!

Hallo-weenie
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST COCKTAILGATE
A Nightmare on Folsom St.
HNYQWEEN ALL HALLOWS EVE (Honey Soundsystem)
SOME THING Halloween
Halloween Bootie
Those are mostly events hosted by various friends and acquaintances, and pretty much any of them should meet your criteria for trashy and/or divey. Good luck and have fun.
