slavery in sudan

I'm looking for books, articles, interviews, etc. on the the practice of slavery in Sudan.

I'd like to find some solid sources and get a better grounding in the situation over there. I'm writing about it for an international relations class, so both local and international analyses are welcome.

I recently read "Tears of the Desert" by Halima Bashir. It's an autobiographical book by a young female Sudanese doctor. It gives a very moving account of the impact of the present situation on average people.

US report on slavery in Sudan 2010

A human trafficking site with links to various articles; however, the site states that it has made no attempt to fact-check them

A 2001 book by a southern Sudanese Dinka (one of the ethnic groups often prey to enslavement) who trained as an anthropologist and now teaches history at Loyola.
