Can someone recommend an "Ace of Cakes"-esque bakery in South Beach Miami for a random and cool custom designed cake?

I'd love to tell you about the design and the idea in general, but it would be a dead giveaway to the lucky recipient and as I'm still investigating whether I can even pull it off, the fewer clues the better.

What I am looking for is a fancy cake store, preferably reasonably priced for a small, custom designed cake to feed about 12-15. Its the kind of cake that would look cool sculpted and covered in fondant. I'm not at all familiar with bakeries in Miami and hope you can point me in the right direction.

(Note: The Ace of Cakes reference is really just to get your thinking in the right direction, but I'm really not trying to get too extravagant, big, or expensive at all.)

I'm actually in the beginning stages of looking for something somewhat similar in the Miami Beach area, so here are a few places I've looked at (fyi, I can't attest to their quality, but the sites all provide pictures of their work):

- http://www.donutdivas.com/GALLERY.html -- Not just donuts, but also cakes & other sweets
- http://www.cakedesignsbyedda.com/
- http://www.couturecakeshop.com/ -- This place is actually located about 40 min north in Delray Beach, however they do deliver, cater, etc. I've had a cake from here before and it's pretty damn good.

The biggest grocery store chain down here in Publix, and surprisingly some of the nicer ones do allow for custom cake orders, the designs of which can be rather elaborate (as opposed to your standard vanilla cake with sickeningly sweet pure sugar icing and blue dye #2). Another less standard, more gourmet grocery store called The Fresh Market offers similar services.

You can memail me with more information about the design, theme, what you're looking for, etc. and I might be able to help you. I'm very familiar with the area and all things food, pretty much.

A little expensive but very nice cakes; give them a call and see if they can do what you want... I can attest that their cakes are incredibly good...
