Windows 7 login required. WTF?

My Windows 7 (64bit) PC crashed and now wants me to login. However, I have never set up a user account. What the heck do I do now?

I was playing a game and my PC froze. I restarted and all was well. I attempted to play the game again and it froze. I restarted but instead of offering me an option to start in safe mode etc, it's now asking me to login as administrator (but says administrator account is disabled) or as a user. But I don't have a user name or password.

Is there a simple way to remedy this or do I have to go back to the company that built this machine for me and beg for help? I'm trying to research answers now but this machine (spare laptop) is dying (no fan) so I'm in a bit of a fix. Help?

Real quick: Did you try not entering any password and hitting Enter?

Response by poster: Yup. No dice, I'm afraid.

But I can get into Safe Mode now so there's hope. I think.

Response by poster: Well, that was surprisingly simple. :)
