Books about the influential people the world has never heard of?
I recently read a GQ article about World Wide Wes, supposedly the most connected main in the NBA. Despite being a semi-publicly known figure, no one really knows who he works for and what he does.
Where can I read about more people like WWW, the shadows behind the scenes who? I’d prefer books but am open to anything articles or videos if necessary.

Banvard's Folly - most of the people in it were very influential in their day, but totally obscure now.

And she was amazing at coaching, criticizing, and cajoling creative people from afar.
