Columbus Ohio Airport: Is there any way to walk from the main terminal area to Stelzer Road?
Yes, I know there is various ground transportation from the CMH terminal. But I'm interested in walking from the terminal to Stelzer Road (from that point on the urban walking journey is easier). I know in recent years there's been a lot of construction that has totally revamped International Gateway and the parking areas so it's hard to get a sense of what is where (without exploring it in person).
I guess I'm mainly looking for a pedestrian-friendly access point from the terminal to International Gateway. Walking along the Gateway is the easier part.

There may not be sidewalks the whole way, but it's definitely possible. Be safe.

Response by poster: but it should be possible to get out walking near the baggage claims where all the taxis pick up arrivals and walk West from there
But I think this traffic is now funneled and tunneled in a way that makes it near impossible for a pedestrian to go along it (until it gets to the regular Gateway road). Not sure though (thus this question).

Possible, definitely. Advisable, probably not, but it's probably not entirely unsafe.
The hardest part is going to be getting from the main terminal past the parking garage exit/rental car ramps/what have you.
If you look at hybrid view in google maps, it looks to me that the street mapping is correct, even if the satellite image is out of date (ie there are weird ramps into the long term lots, etc.). Based on that, and my recollection of flying in to CMH about a month ago, I'm going to say your best bet might actually be to grab the shuttle to one of the airport hotels, then walk from there. Concourse Hotel is probably a sure bet.

Seconding pixie. You can probably do it, but its a long walk down a pedestrian unfriendly road.
