How to find new albums by artists in my iTunes library?
I once used a service that scanned your library and gave you the most recent albums from your artists but I can't find it anymore. Any suggestions on a service or plugin?

Are you asking about new/upcoming albums by artists you play in iTunes? I track my plays on last.fm and have it hooked up to Soundamus, which isn't perfect (it confuses similar band names) but does clue me to new albums sometimes. There appears to be a java upload for your music collection, but I have java disabled, so I can't verify it.

You might have to add the Release Date column in the settings before you can sort by it; in my Win version of iTunes I am pretty sure it is not there by default. I often sort within artists by Release Date for just this reason. (Apologies I can't be more specific than that, since I am at work an iTunes is home.)

When iTunes is in List View, there's an arrow next to the track name, the artist name, and the artist name. If you click the arrow next to the Artist name, it takes you straight to that artist's iTunes Store page.

You might be thinking of iConcertCal, which, in addition to listing upcoming shows, lists upcoming albums. It's hidden behind a tab.

If I'm understanding you, you're wanting something that tells you if an artist in your iTunes library has a new album out. An album which you don't have. Yes?
Apple's Genius Sidebar recommendation sorta does this (command-shift-G to display it on a Mac, or find it under the View menu). If the iTunes Music Store has tracks by the currently-selected artist, it will show you them, generally featuring the latest. For example, I highlight a Morcheeba track, and the sidebar shows me -- hey! New album released 06/08/10. Conveniently, I can purchase it from Apple right now. Crazy!
Obviously this only works for stuff Apple sells (though that's quite a lot these days, what with their being the largest music retailer), and I don't believe there's any sort of library-wide "here's everyone you like with new stuff" feature, but if you select one of your favorite artists, it'll show you what they've got.
