Is my camera haunted?

Why is my film camera making a weird noise?
I bought a used Olympus Mju-2 off ebay, and loaded up some film into it today. I've shot a few photos with it, and everything seems to be going smoothly.
Except, it makes a weird, whirring noise every so often when it's picked up, put down, or jolted in some way. It sounds as though the film is trying to advance and getting stuck. It doesn't stop until I slide the clamshell halfway off the lens and close it again.
What's going on? Have I bought a dud camera, or did I load the film incorrectly? Is this film roll going to be spoiled? I really don't want it to go nuts everytime it's jolted - how am I meant to take it around with me?
(I always seem to have weird luck with film cameras. Why I don't stick to digital is beyond me...)

The ยต-II is a great camera, and the fact that I never got mine back is almost the only thing that still rankles about a relationship that ended 5 years ago. Unfortunately, because I didn't get it back, I don't have anything practical to add--but I wanted to add a bit of moral support. This camera is good enough that it's worth persevering. (I later inherited a Trip-35, otherwise I'd have got myself another one.)

Response by poster: Thank you for the moral support. I don't intend to chuck the camera. I had one years ago, and it got stolen; I am really glad to have another now.
I will develop this roll and see if there are any issues. I suppose I can live with whirring and clicking, as long as the photos are good.

It sounds to me like it is rewinding. Is there a rewind button on the camera?
