Interchangeable Canon/Nikon lens?

Is it possible to use a lens made for a Canon Digital Rebel with a Nikon D70?

My D70 was dropped, and now the lens focus is broken. I still have my old Canon Digital Rebel with a broken body.

I imagine some sort of adapter may work, but am looking for experts out there... just don't want to spend the money on a new lens.

If this works, could be a blessing in disguise, as I always thought the images came out better on the Canon (and I'm hoping its all due to a better lens).

Best answer: Essentiallly, no. Here's a discussion about why:

I know you already have your answer and this is a minor derail, but I'd suggest you get the Nikon 50mm f/1.8. You should be able to pick it up for under $100, easy. It's a prime lens, no zoom, but it has great shallow depth of field. This would at least get you back up and shooting with no more cost than the theoretical adapter ring.
