Hourly Billing Rate for Archives/Digitization Work

Hopefully some archives/library types on here will have suggestions, since I don't enjoy being on the SAA listservs.

An archivist friend who's working abroad just referred an acquaintance over to me for help with digitizing a fairly large film/photography collection. More than likely it'll be only a few (10-20) hours of work providing her with guidance and referrals to vendors that outsource digitization.

I'm keeping track of the time I've put into this work, but am wondering what would be a good billable rate? I have about 8 years' experience (and a MLIS) doing digitization work. The last time I did this work full time (2007), I was getting about $35-$50 an hour. Is that too low considering inflation in the past 3 years, plus my amount of professional experience? I figure either I charge her an hourly rate and it won't be much. Or when she's in the Bay Area for the summer (I live in NorCal), tell her to take me out to dinner at an expensive restaurant in exchange for my time.

I've billed $50/h for specialized reference work - and that was years ago when I first started out. Now that I have much more experience I'd bill more. FWIW.
