Alternative to Technorati?

Who apart from Technorati carries a constantly updated list of blogs with some kind of rating? Problem: blogs not in the US/UK...

I am in charge of the “Blogs” section of an Italian database of media names, addreses, contact details, etc. We recently added this section to the traditional Dailies/Weeklies/Monthlies/Radio/TV/Net etc. sections. When we started out, Technorati was still publishing a “ranking” which, however debatable their algorithms, still gave some sort of measure of a blog’s “importance”. Right after we started, Technorati stopped doing this, leaving us high and dry. According to their helpdesk, there are no plans to start this ranking again soon.

Can anyone please point me to a similar service which provides some sort of “importance” ranking, however approximate? Problem is, we cover only blogs in Italy or, if based abroad, discussing Italian affairs.

(I’ve read similar threads on the green in the past, but they were either very old or did not seem to cover the essential Italian aspect of my search.)

There's the Italian version of Wikio which does as you describe.

Response by poster: Just what I was looking for! Grazie mille, Webbster!

Of course, if anybody else has further suggestions I'd love to try them out, too...
