Help me build my indie rock playlist based on the number 2!

I joined a mixtape meetup group and the first assignment is to make a mix based on the theme of 'duets'. We are encouraged to be as creative as possible with the theme, so the songs don't necessarily have to be all duets.

I decided to use the number 2 as my theme and to build a playlist around that, in various creative ways. For example, Television's "See No Evil" because it features dual lead guitars. New Pornographers' "Twin Cinema" (Duh). Neutral Milk Hotel's "Two Headed Boy" (Duh, again). The Stone Roses' "Don't Stop" because it is a track played backwards (one song becomes 2 by reversing it). The Velvet Underground's "Temptation Inside Your Heart" is a funny sort of non-duet.

Looking for other ideas. Any 2-chord songs you can think of? Songs about split personality, duality? My playlist is rather guitar heavy right now so some dance/electronic stuff would nicely balance it out.

They Might Be Giants has a kid's song called Number Two. It's not bad, it would make an OK opener to introduce the theme.

All Girl Summer Fun Band had an album called 2 (their second album, natch). Other than that, there's a whole heckuvalot of songs with the word two or the numeral 2 in the title. Song 2 by Blur being the most obvious example. I can't think of a duet with 'Two' in the title, though.

The best I can think of is Big Red Balloon, the second song off Nancy and Lee Again, the second collaborative album between Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood.

Bowie's Jean Genie is basically two chords.
Split Personality: Personality Crisis by the New York Dolls? (Plus then you can run Velvets/Bowie/Dolls together).

Sorry that I just gave you two (heh) more rock songs.

You should find two songs with "One" in the title and make a mashup.

Half Japanese - Double Trouble, in which the narrator claims to have an impersonator who's up to no good.
Eugene Chadbourne - Life x 2, from this album. What to say when someone claims you have a doppelganger. "I must be living two times the life, I only remember half of it."
Roky Erickson - Two Headed Dog
Screaming Blue Messiahs - Twin Cadillac Valentine
Arto Lindsay - Twins

I believe Bow Wow Wow had two drummers. In more current music, the internet tells me Do Make Say Think also do.

Dance/electronic isn't my area of expertise, so here's more rock.

Stones' Jumping Jack Flash, in which Mick reveals "I was raised by a two-faced bearded hag." (He means Janus.)

Stiff Little Fingers' Two Guitars Clash.

Wire's 12XU. (It's "one two ex you," not "twelvezoo.")

...and what should happen to pop up on my iPod a minute later but One Two by indie-rock delight Imperial Teen! Special bonus consideration: it features two singers and all four bandmembers play at least two instruments each.

When I make a playlist based on a word, or a series of words, or a concept, I use Hype Machine or Skreemr to search for the keywords and listen to the results. It's a great way to discover some obscure stuff as well as remind yourself of artists and tracks you may not have thought of on your own.

Wow, just wanted to pop in and say this is pretty awesome. Never really thought about indie rock like this.

I have to throw in the pixies, because what indie rock collection would be complete without the pixies- Surfer rosa and come on pilgrim- double album

Whatever you think of the actual concept, the recently FPPed Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley project fits your theme pretty well.

There aren't any twos in it save for the title, but an obvious choice: Elliott Smith, Waltz No. 2 (XO). Can't believe I'm the first to mention it.

The Twin Peaks theme is always a favorite.

An excerpt of Steve Reich's phase works would be cool. For instance "Come Out":

Reich re-recorded the fragment "come out to show them" on two channels, which initially play in unison. They quickly slip out of sync to produce a phase shifting effect, characteristic of Reich's early works. Gradually, the discrepancy widens and becomes a reverberation and, later, almost a canon.

Brian Jonestown Massacre has a song called "#1 Hit Jam" that I think was written specifically to only use two words in the lyrics, "Hey you."
