The drawbacks of removing the frenulum?

Male adulthood circumcision: what are the drawbacks of removing the frenulum?

Apparently when the frenulum is removed, the underside of the penis is less wrinkly, no more risk of accidentally tearing it, the foreskin around will be more even looking, since almost all pornstars all have it removed it probably looks better.

The concerning part is the loss of sexual sensitivity as a bundle of nerves are located in this organ. Some places say it's a bad idea, a urologist said it would be a 'foolish' thing to do.

What is your opinion and your experiences?

I understand your concern for tearing, but it sounds like you're really wondering whether you want to look like a porn star(you stated facts like "less wrinkly", "even looking", "looks better") and sacrifice sexual sensitivity.

As a woman, I believe porn stars are overrated. You risk sacrificing something of your own body based on what others think, and you're going to be stuck with that decision for the rest of your life. What do YOU want? Not what does your girlfriend want. Not what the people who watch porn want. This is your body, your pleasure. Pick whatever that gives you more pleasure or personal satisfaction.

I've had similar conversations with women who want breast implants. It's easy to get stuck in thinking what others want, but you need to worry about what *you* want and what *your* priorities are.

If looking like a porn star is that important to you, then go for it! Don't look back! You have my support.

I was circumcised as an infant and I love my frenulum. I like how it looks, but I like how it feels better. I certainly wouldn't give it up for cosmetic reasons unless your livelihood depends on it.

For some perspective from the ladies side of the table (assuming you're a straight male and are interested in that opinion, of course, apologies if I'm offering undue opinion): On its list of functions, I'd say "looking awesome" is toward the very end of the list for our pal, the penis.

Hmmm... I'm not sure if this helps, but neither my former nor current husband has had a frenulum (no idea why... I always assumed they'd had less-than-competant doctors doing the surgery) and neither of them seems to feel like they are missing out on anything. My ex-husband loved to screw more than anyone I've ever met, and the current one used to feel like the head of his penis was almost too sensitive until he got used to my messing with it all the time.

As for looks, I've seen dicks with and without and I think a frenulum looks fine. It looks slightly odd to me without one, but not so much that I find it terribly noteworthy aesthetically or functionally. Just sort of a "huh... no frenulum... weird..." before I get on with the sexing and forget all about it.

I've seen a good number of penii (both in person and in porn) in my day and I had to look up what a circumcised-penis-sans-frenulum looks like to figure out if my husband has his or not. I . . . guess he doesn't? That area is still very sensitive, so honestly, I'm pretty much not sure either way.

Which is my roundabout way of saying that I don't think most women would notice the difference, at least as much as they would circumcised vs. not. Which makes me think you should err on the side of what feels best.

Nothing saves a penis from looking weird. But it's not like girl-parts are any better, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I am not circumcised, but I have no frenulum. It tore during, uh, particularly vigorous activities. I noticed no difference in sensation. I like it, actually.

I would just like to point out that the assertion that "almost all pornstars all have it removed" is not even remotely true.

If porn star looks are really a criterion you're actually basing this non-trivial decision on, I suggest you watch a ton more porn and really pay attention to the dicks.

Obvious, perhaps, but you can always have it removed in a second surgery. Why not give it a few year trial period?
