How can I get an organization to appear on Google Maps when looking at an area, rather than just when you searched for it?

We're registered with Google and our location shows up if you search for us, but when looking at our spot on the map there's no label, whereas some of the surrounding businesses are labeled.

How long ago did you register it? I imagine Google takes some time to update the graphics on their tiles.

I wonder if you have to pay for that higher level of visibility?

Best answer: I think you're referring to the "landmark icons" discussed here. If so, there appears to be no quick and easy way to get your organization included.
