The post specifically says it's a homage to Ware.

Response by poster: Yeah, but the poster said the image was taken with an iPhone camera. I kinda think it is Ware imitating Ware. I thought I'd throw this to the masses and see if any other Ware fans had an opinion.

Nothing tragic or depressing is happening in the image, so I vote not actually Ware.

(What does the fact that the blogger used an iPhone have to do with anything?)

The blogger using an iphone indicates they're not privy to any inside info and so they are likely speculating that's a homage rather than knowing that for certain.

position of the arms is wrong, as is line weight, so I'm saying homage (plus Ware would've waaaay more crazy panel placement)

Echoing The Whelk, the line weight is wrong. The Chicago MCA had a Ware exhibit a few years ago with original blue-pencil sketches and etc., and from the look of this the artist was working at a larger scale than Ware does (I'd love to be wrong, though, because having Ware on Team Coco would be neat).

Response by poster: Okay, a friend of a friend asked Ware himself. Chris did not draw this. Thanks for your help everyone!

This is why I love Ask's huge reach

"So did X do this?"

"Lemme call X. Nope."
