My home computer bit the dust and I want to transfer everything on my iphone onto my laptop. Can I do this?

More specifically, how can I transfer everything, not just purchases?

Best answer: You can use iTunes to sync everything except non-purchased-music. For that, use iRip or Senuti on the Mac, or try SharePod for Windows.

I'm pretty sure iTunes A) won't allow you to transfer music from an ipod to a computer, and B) will blow away your entire music collection if you try to sync an ipod with an empty library.

There are good instruction here for transferring your music.

Best answer: On a related note... what's wrong with your computer? When my home computer died (a motherboard issue, I learned), I was able to remove my hard drive and put it into an external hard drive case like this one. I could then transfer any files I wanted off the hard drive to another computer via USB.

I've been using Pod-to-PC for a while now with good results.
