Subscription-based site

I'd like an open source version of Salon.com for a trade-specific website. Everyone can see part of an article, subscribers can see the entire article. I'd prefer to spend my time creating content and the less on code and administration on my side, the better. Are there any open source apps which do this or am I doomed to code it from scratch?
Bricolage is supposed to be an open source, Salon-like CMS. Not sure about subscription options, though, and you'll need PostgreSQL.

Mambo, Bricolage, drupal, Plone should all offer something close to what you want.

the articles can acutally be hosted anywhere. You just need TypeKey to login. (TypePad is the hosted blog service)
TKPal looks pretty sweet, though (as i understand it) people would have to pay for each page.

rschroed, I don't think that's the case. grouphug just started using TKPal to charge users $1 (one-time fee) to see comments on all confessions.

Krang is another option, developed partly in response to issues with Bricolage.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone. I'll check these out, starting with Krang.

Since no one else mentioned it, I'll note that Bricolage is not merely Salon-like, but Salon is actually running a modified version of an old revision of Bricolage (or at least they were as of about six months ago... don't know whether it might have changed since then.)
