Any good resources for Open Source Architecture of the Mike Brady variety? [+]
I'm wondering if there is an open-source movement for architecture or if there are any design-databases where one can obtain free designs for building a home. It occurs to me that there may be an eco-friendly or low-impact architecture subculture that seeks to propagate their vision by offering blueprints to the public at no cost. Try Googling "Open Source Architecture" and you'll see why I came to the Green for help. Are there any on-line resources you guys can think of?

Response by poster: Much thanks! These are good links. Google is my friend, too, but I'm not always smart about the query terms.

From the I found this pdf (google html version,) which appears to be a manifesto in re: open source architecture.
This blog is focused on the idea of OSA; however, I'm not seeing any actual PLANS there on preview.
Otherwise, check out some of the books printed in the late 60s, early 70s about making your own improvised house. I've seen several of those in the homes (that they made their selves) of freaky commune people in my area. I'm sure your friendly local librarian will be happy to oblige you.
