Music in (500) Days of Summer, but not on the soundtrack

There's a song in (500) Days of Summer that I need to define. I remember humming along to it during the movie and since I knew the tune I didn't bother to look it up in the ending credits. I also wrongly assumed I could find it on the soundtrack. The song I'm talking about is most likely from Wilco, with a slim chance it was Son Volt. Either way, I can't find out which song was in that movie.

Did you check the soundtrack listing at IMDB? From my experience, these lists are drawn directly from the end credits and therefor usually complete. (As opposed to the soundtrack albums, which are usually not complete.)

Any chance of giving us some more details? Any lyrics you remember? Or even (for those who've seen the movie) the scene it played during?

Hype Machine is pretty good at tracking indie music popularity, you could start looking through Wilco songs there.

my guess are the boy with the arab strap or the infinite pet.

i don't think it is the song you are talking about, but zooey deschanel cover of sugar town is quite hummable.

Care to share, then? Like....a lyric? When it occurred during the movie? Something? Anything? Bueller?

Response by poster: I will try to provide a little more information. (Although I thought describing a song that sounds like Wilco would suffice)

I believe the song was played while Tom and Summer were sitting across from each other at a restaurant. Maybe when Summer ordered pancakes?
