Please recommend books about casinos for in-depth research.

Can anyone point me to informative books, websites, documentaries, and etc. regarding casinos? I'm about to begin researching them heavily and I was hoping for a head start. Thanks a billion.
What purpose are you researching them for? Because, uh, you know, we kinda frown on doing your homework for you around here. That's not what AxMe is for, and there are all kinds of casnio resources if you'll just google, or use wikipedia, or god forbid visit your local library.

Doing research and doing homework are different things. No one is asking you to do their homework, and these types of snarks are not useful here. Take it to the Grey if you have a problem.
argh!spiders!, My grad school funding came from Casino research (big $$$ for this stuff).
The Journal of Gambling Studies is pretty good, and the new google service, Google Scholar, has been realy helpful.

Response by poster: Heh, I'm researching a screenplay about a woman who builds a casino empire. If it were homework, I seriously doubt I was ever the kind of student to work too hard on the research part.
I appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

I think the question was appropriate - research and homework are often the same thing.

Ahhh... you should have clarified the intent of the research...
Watch "Casino." Great movie, plus there is an A&E series on cheating in Casino's, ins and outs etc that
1) The Las Vegas Strip
2) The Real Las Vegas (15 bucks for the DVD - cheap!)
3) Las Vegas: The Power and the Money
4) Modern Marvels: Las Vegas
etc. etc. etc.
Those A&E doc's would be pretty good for something like this.

Here's a fairly colorful description of how Donald Trump got his casinos in Atlantic City - and it wasn't by building them himself.
