Mrs. W and I would like to buy some modern looking furniture, but there do not seem to be available venues in Jacksonville, FL. Mefites in or near Orlando, are there stores there you can recommend that would stock modern looking couches and chairs?

Ikea?

Best answer: Apparently ScanDesign, on the corner of Philips and Baymeadows, might have what you're looking for - "Scandinavian furniture that's somewhat more upscale," according to Mom, who's been living here in Jacksonville for over 25 years. Best of luck!

Response by poster: Ikea is a possibility -- we like their stuff, but we were looking for more options, if available. I thought that Orlando might have a better chance than Jacksonville.

I haven't been to ScanDesign in many years; maybe that's a possibility.

Best answer: Bo Concepts in Town Center has some very nice stuff. Pricy custom order furniture, but if you want modern, then they've got it.

For various values of "modern looking furniture" even once staid old Ethan Allen has some offerings of late. Jacksonville, FL store.

Get the Room and Board catalog. (Online shopping is harder, somehow...) Most of their stuff is sort of "modern classic", and it's really high quality. it's not cheap, but a lot of it is not at all as expensive as you'd expect. They deliver anywhere in the country for a flat rate fee. (Not schilling! I've just been happy with their stuff.)

Response by poster: We went to Bo Concepts today and Mrs. W fell in love with a couch. We bought it. Thanks for all the responses.
