Jim Carrey wearing the spectacles that I want! Help me find them or a cheap alterantive!

What glasses is Jim Carrey wearing in this picture?
Also, can anyone suggest an alternative since the ones he's wearing are probably expensive as all get out! Additionally, where is a good site to view hip spectacles?!

As far as the shape, I do have a pair that are Buddy Holly style but want something more obscenely cool. That is when I happened upon Jim's. I would just like to find ones that are similar. they don't have to be exact.
Thanks for the sites!

Really? I know it's trendy to call every glasses with a speck of metal in the temple Wayfarers, but it seems like the Carrey glasses have a much rectangular bottom than the rounded Ray Bans. In addition, the temple detail is vertical, not horizontal. Unless y'all are just reocmmending a look-alike, not the actual model.

They're quite different, but they've got the rectangular, angular thing going.

Response by poster: Yeah the ones that Carrey is wearing have more of a squarish bottom. The Wayfarers are a little too round

Even more similar shape, but they've got pink arms. The mirrored lenses would be knocked out to accommodate your prescription lenses, obviously.

I'm partial to L.A. Eyeworks. My partner has a pair and he really likes them (although they are a little bit fragile-feeling, they are very light, and his have stayed perfectly fine after wearing them daily for four years). Some of their pairs look similar to the ones Jim Carrey is wearing in the picture you linked to. Their plastic frames come in a variety of colors, so even though their catalog looks small, clicking on individual frames shows you many different options for that shape.

Response by poster: Those last ones are a big too square. I like where this is going though!

Best answer: These two from Zenni are pretty similar. This one has funky shaped arms, but has that distinctive shape where the glasses are slightly tilted like a "V" that I'm having a hard time finding (and describing).

I also love the frames from Eye Think Eyewear. I've had my pair for four years and they're very sturdy and I get a lot of compliments on them (I wear the Jelly frame in purple/orange; I'm female but it looks like many of their designs would suit the look you're going for). Can't find an official website for them, but they do have a facebook page with their catalog on it.

I have the RB5121's and they do not look much like that at all.

I've been commenting way too much on this, but in seeing if they have any glasses like this (they don't) I've found that Global Eyeglasses is relensing frames again. If you find a pair of vintage eyeglasses or sunglasses that need to be relensed, I can't recommend them enough; it's only $10 (compared to $100 through optometrists), quick, and quality. Use the coupon code "GlassyEyes" to save 15%.

Response by poster: Juliet, you are such a doll! I am so glad you are a glasses-nerd!!! I think these are the Winrars! Although, they are a bit dark. If you come across any others I will be, umm, happy!

I'm glad I was able to help you out! On the search for your glasses I found these for my friend Marcus, who was looking for a cheaper alternative to these. I am on a roll.

Mathowie discussing cheap eyeglasses
In my experience (and this is real experience, friends have asked me, a total glasses dork, to find cheap versions of expensive glasses before) it is difficult to match up plain black glasses since you're just going on shape. I'll keep an eye out, though.
Do you have impaired or perfect vision, and are you a boy or a girl?
