Please recommend day trips around Nerja, Spain....
The BF and I are travelling to Spain in late July...staying in Nerja. We're looking for "you-can't-miss-this" things to do or see. (I would spend the whole time on the beach and in the water, but he's more of a sight-seer). Balcony of Europe: we're a ten minute walk away and will be there; caves: we're not too far from those and will undoubtedly go as BF is a geologist-wannabe; what else should we see or do? Restaurant recommendations welcome as well. thanks!

Frigiliana is a very pretty typical Spanish whitewashed town up in the hillside which is worth spending an afternoon wandering about in, admiring the views and winding little streets. Only about 20 minutes drive away if I recall correctly, and there's a bus if you don't have a car.
I'd always recommend a Parador if you want to sample really good, regional Spanish food, and although the Parador at Nerja is modern, the food doesn't disappoint.
The Alhambra is amazing but I think you'd have to be crazy to go there at the height of summer. I was there last Friday and it was already blindingly hot in the middle of the day. In summer temperatures are regularly 40+.

Tarifa - The windiest city in the world (or so they claim).
Sevilla - Great city, but it might be more than a day trip from there.

Gilbraltar - climbing to the top of the Rock is pretty cool
Morocco - you can do a day trip on a ferry from Malaga to Morocco.
Ronda - a beautiful village, great place to catch a bull-fight
