Help me remember a childhood cartoon trauma

Do you remember an eighties cartoon about blood-letting?
Sometime in the early eighties I saw a cartoon on swedish TV which spooked me pretty good. I don't remember much about it, other than:
* It was drawn in a semi realistic kind of way, sort of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe-ish
* The soundtrack to it contained either "Flight of the Bumblebee" or the "William Tell Overture"... I think
* It was quite sinister for a morning cartoon, or at least I thought so back then. There were heroes and villians (or one villian), and I remember that some of the heroes got their blood sucked out of them via some sort of machine. The blood-letting took place inside a mountain... I think
* I'm pretty sure that the cartoon was a one-off; it didn't star a gang of regulars, so to speak. Of course I could be wrong about this and what I'm remembering is an episode of Scooby-Doo, but I don't think so...
That's pretty much all I remember. It's all very vague but I'm sure one of you will know which cartoon I'm talking about!

Response by poster: Yeah, I do realize I've given you precious little to work with, here...
Anyway, I'm quite sure it was a cartoon. An inspired guess for sure, though. So thank you! That clip do share some traits with what I remember - the over all feeling of helplessness, having one's life force sucked out - but, as I said, I'm quite sure it was a cartoon and that the machine was more high tech, so to speak!

The Dark Crystal comes closer--the essence-draining does take place inside a mountain, the machinery is somewhat more technological, and it's pure nightmare fuel. It's Muppets, though, not a cartoon.
